Wee Table

This table has a simple, common form, but we’ve added some subtlety which changes its presence in the room. The legs splay out a touch, and the rails have a gentle curve to the bottom edge. These are meant to unconsciously give a slight sense of movement and a balanced stance, all while remaining light and graceful.

It is made with traditional mortise and tenon joinery. The top is fixed to the base with brass machine screws, which allows for easy and repeated removal for refinishing. It’s finished with a polymerized oil and wax blend which has a good balance between repairability and durability against warm mugs.
